Natural Resource Management (Water)
Reviving Water, Restoring Hope
Water is life—and in the arid and drought-prone regions of Rajasthan and Gujarat, water security is critical to survival and development. Dhara Sansthan has been at the forefront of Natural Resource Management, with a strong focus on water conservation, rejuvenation of traditional water bodies, and sustainable water use practices.
Our water initiatives begin with community engagement. We mobilize local villagers to participate in the planning and implementation of water projects, ensuring long-term ownership and sustainability. From cleaning and deepening traditional ponds and stepwells to building check dams and recharge pits, our work is rooted in traditional wisdom blended with modern techniques.
We also promote rainwater harvesting in schools, anganwadis, and community buildings to ensure year-round water availability. Through awareness drives, we educate communities on responsible water use, watershed management, and water budgeting.
Our RO Water ATM plants and Watersafe distribution initiatives further ensure access to clean drinking water, reducing the risk of waterborne illnesses and improving overall community health.
Natural resource management is not just about infrastructure—it's about resilience. By restoring water sources, we not only secure agriculture and livestock but also reduce migration and improve the quality of life. Dhara Sansthan's water projects are a testament to the power of collective action in reviving ecosystems and livelihoods together.
